Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter at room temp.
1 cup sugar
2 eggs at room temp.
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
strawberry jam
cinnamon flavor red sugar
heart shaped cookie cutter( diff. size)
Method: Mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth and creamy with the help of hand mixer. mix all dry ingredients together in a separate bowl. Add this mixture little by little at a time to butter mixture until well blended. If the dough gets thick and can't mix with the mixer, start mixing with hand gently. Cover dough in a tight container and refregerate for 30-40 min.
Now start rolling dough until 1/4 inch thick for sugar cookies and 1/8 inch thick for jam cookies. Dust some flour if needed. Cut into heart shapes, cutting two alike for each jam cookie. Use a tiny heart to cut the center out of the top layer. Place the bottom piece on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Then the hollow heart and put littlejam in the center with the help of spoon or use a thick plastic bag to make cone of jam and cut the small opening to fill the jam in the cookie. For sugar cookies, first cut the shape and place them on the baking tray. Sprinkle little sugar on top of it. Repeat with the remaining dough. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 7-8 minutes. let cool the jam cookies for a while, jam will be hot.
