Ingredients:
For filling:
2 cups green beans, washed, trimmed and chopped thinly
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ginger+garlic paste
4-5 green chilies
1 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
For covering:
2 large potatoes, boiled, peeled and mashed
2-3 bread slices or 1/2 cup bread crumbs
oil for shallow frying
salt to taste
Method: Heat 1 tbsp oil in kadhai. Add the cumin seeds and onions, then add chopped/ paste of green chili and ginger-garlic paste. Add chopped beans and salt. mix well and cover for 1-2 min. Remove from stove, add lemon juice and let cool. Now put the mixture in grinder and pulse lightly 2-3 times, just to mix it. Do not make paste.
Now combine mashed potatoes with bread crumbs or pulse bread slices in mixer. Add salt and knead dough. Set aside. Now grease your palms with little oil and make small lemon size balls. Flatten each ball into small rounds smaller than puri. Now put 1-2 tbsp of filling in each round and cover it with another on top of it. Seal the edge by pressing lightly. make all the patties by this method. Now heat flat griddle and shallow fry all patties till lightly brown from both sides.
Serve hot with ketchup.
